RIFAH Karnataka Chapter, since its inception, has been actively engaged in identifying the target zones of related businesses, resolving their challenges and guiding them to scale up to the next levels. The related success stories have been reported earlier on timely basis.

Last Sunday, Dtd 11th June 2023, proved to be a historical day when under the patronage of RIFAH Hassan Unit over 250 Coffee Planters and businessmen gathered over full day program at Hira Centre Arehalli. The main objective of the program was to understand the challenges being faced by coffee Planters, growers & businessmen and train them to enhance the yield of the main crop (coffee) and the mixed crops (like Black Pepper, Cardamom, Clove, etc.).

Mr. Syed Mumtaz, State President RIFAH Karnataka Chapter presided the day long session. Summing up the different presentations, by the other dignitaries, in his presidential talk he emphasized upon the significance of value-addition and value-creation in scaling up any business. He brought the historical significance of coffee calling it “Black Gold”. He emphasized that it was one of the most special gifts by the elites amongst themselves in 17th and 18th centuries in Europe and other parts of the world. He further added that this complementary crop has similar potential even today. However the need is to adopt the multifacet approach of value-addition and value-creation in any business. He brought the importance of RIFAH Chamber of Commerce And Industry to the notice of audience in thriving the businesses to the next levels.

Dr. S. J. Anke Gowda, the Principal Scientist and Head of ICAR, Madikeri, and Dr. M. N. Venugopal, a Scientist in Plant Pathology and Head (Retired) at ICAR, Madikeri presented technically the significance of mixed crops along with coffee. They presented the case studies of the successful formers working on the ideas and scientific techniques to achieve the higher yield of the crops in plantations.

Dr. Md. Faisal Peeran, Scientist ICAR Madikeri emphasized on the balance between Scientific Technique and Sustainability. He presented the diseases and treatments for the mixed crops in plantations.

The occasion was graced by honorary guests and dignitaries from Hassan District. The successful students in SSLC and PUC were appreciated with the token of acknowledgment.

Congratulations to RIFAH Arehalli team, RIFAH Hassan District President Abdullah Rizwan Sb ans RIFAH Karnataka Chapter for this successful accomplishment.

On this track there is a need to identify such clusters in the community and hold day-long sessions effectively to openly discuss the challenges being faced by the businessmen and the solutions being offered by the technology.
