The programme commenced with Mr. Zeeshan Khan,*General Secretary, RIFAH UP East, introducing RIFAH and explaining its objectives, organisational structure, and commitment to supporting traders, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and business professionals. He highlighted the importance of collective efforts, mutual cooperation, and a unified platform through which businesses can connect, share experiences, and explore new opportunities. Following the introduction, Mr. Mirza Afzal Beg, General Secretary, RCCI, addressed the participants and shared practical insights into business expansion. He discussed the importance of strategic planning, developing business networks, exploring new markets, and adopting effective approaches to strengthen existing businesses. His interaction helped participants understand how structured networking and institutional support can contribute to sustainable business growth. Thereafter, Mr. Mohd. Anees, National Secretary, spoke about the prospects of international trade and the opportunities available for businesses seeking to expand beyond regional and national markets. | Description | Rifah Networking Meet 2026 Business Insights, Community Development and Networking 📅 13 October 2026 | 📍 Palm Shore, Egmore, Chennai The Rifah Networking Meet, organised by the Rifah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, brought together approximately 90 business professionals. The objective was to strengthen relationships, exchange experiences and explore new business opportunities. Following the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, the chief guest, Mr. Sajid, was introduced. He is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Palm Shore, Copper Kitchen and Biryani Mubarak, operating approximately 25 outlets across these brands. Instead of a conventional speech, the programme featured an interactive question-and-answer session, led by insightful questions from Brother Mukhtar, Secretary of Rifah Chamber of Commerce, Tamil Nadu. Mr. Sajid shared his family’s business background and explained how he began his journey as a cashier at his father’s Zam Zam Hotel. His early experience in the hospitality industry helped him understand customer service, daily operations and business management. He highlighted the importance of choosing the right location, making timely decisions, working with the right people and prioritising customer satisfaction. He emphasised that quality and hygiene are essential in the food business and that customer trust must always come first. He also explained how restaurants create a wider business ecosystem that benefits employees, suppliers, investors and building owners. When other people’s money is involved, transparency and a clear understanding of profit-sharing are essential for sustainable growth. 🌱 Umar Mukhtar’s Message: A Call for Change Brother Umar Mukhtar delivered a thought-provoking message about the economic development of the Muslim community. He emphasised that earning a halal livelihood is a religious responsibility, just as Salah is obligatory. He encouraged us to move beyond a mindset of always expecting help from others and instead become people who create opportunities, support one another and contribute meaningfully to society. Referring to the Jain community and its economic contributions, he encouraged Muslims to take greater responsibility for business development and the country’s economic progress. He explained that Rifah aims to address these challenges through knowledge and training, networking, business delegations, business scaling and consultancy services, enabling entrepreneurs to learn, connect and grow. 💔 A Heart-Touching Reminder from Gaza Towards the end of the programme, Brother Umar Mukhtar shared a heartbreaking account of an injured young girl in Gaza who reportedly underwent surgery without anaesthesia because it was unavailable. The doctor who performed the operation was reportedly overcome with emotion by the suffering the child had endured. This deeply moving account reminded us of the blessings we often take for granted. OPENING CEREMONY The meeting commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran (Qirath) by Mr. Suhail Ahmed, setting a blessed and meaningful beginning to the gathering. The meeting brought together Rifah members, visitors and fellow entrepreneurs to strengthen business relationships, exchange knowledge and explore new business opportunities through the Rifah networking platform. --- 2. MEETING HOST Mr. Muffez Ahmed served as the meeting host. His coordination and involvement contributed to the smooth flow of the meeting and ensured that the scheduled activities were conducted effectively. --- 3. EDUCATION SLOT – HOW BODY FITNESS IS IMPORTANT IN BUSINESS Speaker: Mr. Tabrez Ahmed Mr. Tabrez Ahmed conducted the education session on the importance of physical fitness and its connection to business performance. The session highlighted how maintaining good physical health can help entrepreneurs manage their professional responsibilities more effectively and sustain their energy throughout a busy working day. WEEKLY 60-SECOND BUSINESS PRESENTATIONS All participating Rifah members delivered their weekly 60-second business presentations. Each member introduced their business, highlighted their products or services and communicated the type of customers, contacts and referrals they were looking for. The presentations provided an opportunity for members to improve their business communication, increase awareness of their fellow members’ services and identify potential referral opportunities. This activity reinforced the importance of consistent participation, clear business introductions and mutual support within the Rifah network. --- 5. OPEN NETWORKING SESSION Conducted by: Mr. Ahmed Sharif Sir Mr. Ahmed Sharif Sir conducted an engaging open networking session focusing on the difference between working in a business and working on a business. He explained how entrepreneurs can become so involved in daily operations that they have limited time to focus on business development, planning and future growth.
